Housing Solutions

We’re creating a stronger community. Join us to play your part.

We’re determined to provide the residents in our community with high quality affordable housing. As an independent, local housing association it’s always been our top priority. But how we deliver housing and services must change to reflect recent radical shifts in the social and economic landscape.

That’s where you come in. At Housing Solutions, we are redoubling our commitment to local people and investing in a number of senior positions that will enable us to serve them more effectively.

We want to better understand the challenges our residents are facing so that we can provide more focused solutions using the latest technology. We’re also eager to strengthen our involvement in the issues that really matter to our community. And we need to build more homes to meet the growing affordability crisis in our region.

The roles we’re recruiting for, both within the day-to-day operation of the business and on the board, are all key to achieving these goals. That’s why we are working with housing sector recruitment specialists Badenoch + Clark to find talent that is up for the challenge.

We’re looking for energetic team workers and strategic thinkers, who identify with our mission and reflect our diverse community. If that sounds like you and one of our roles fits your experience and attributes, we would love to hear from you.

About Us

What kind of organisation will you be joining?

Our mission to make residents proud of where they live and staff proud of where they work, is more important than ever.

We’re not the biggest housing association on the block, but we also know size isn’t everything. We use the fact we’re a little smaller than others to our advantage. It means we can respond quickly to change and provide solutions that answer the specific challenges of the most disadvantaged people living in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

For obvious reasons, this agility has come in handy during the past couple of years. Even in the unprecedented upheaval of the pandemic we’ve managed to keep true to our core purpose of providing high quality housing for local people. This will always be our priority and we’re proud of that.

We’re also proud of our workplace and how we get things done. Because we’re local and independent when you join us you won’t be a cog in a giant machine, you’ll be a valued person in our tightly-knit team. We’re friendly, supportive and eager to muck in when all hands are needed on deck.

Our mission is underpinned by our key strategic pillars:

  • Safe – keep residents and colleagues safe
  • Satisfied – value for money services for residents and fulfilling careers for colleagues
  • Sustainable – deliver more effective services and more efficient homes

Now, you probably want to hear some hard numbers too. Are we viable and able to give you job security?

You can dive into our annual report for the full facts and figures see here but here are the headlines:

  • We own and manage more than 7,500 homes locally.
  • We have an annual turnover of more than £45m.
  • Our operating surplus is over £19m with an operating margin of 39.7%.
  • We have an A+ S&P Global Rating and a G1 V1 rating from the Regulator of Social Housing.
  • Since 2014 we have invested more than £180 million and delivered over 1,300 new homes.

So the numbers look good. But we’re not standing still. We recently updated our corporate strategy to help us bridge gaps in performance and offer a service fit for the post-pandemic world.

This includes lots of initiatives you’ll play a key part in. From our digital transformation, to our redoubled commitment to resident satisfaction, to our focus on building deeper relationships with partners able to help our diverse community thrive, we have an exciting list of objectives.

Achieving them will be challenging. You’ll be busy, very busy, but it’ll be fun – we like a sense of humour and so do our residents – and you’ll be part of a team making a difference.
